All three designs look very rushed to me, and need a bit of TLC. It's just the simple things that need sorting out that are currently making it look rushed - images randomly placed, margins not equal on all sides, things not lined up properly. All this needs sorting out so the design looks more consistent.
However, I do like your navigation on your second design, and I think it would work quite well if done right. I'm not sure how you'd do it, but it would look good.
I think you need to reduce the amount of text on the homepage, and decide properly what you want on the homepage. Sketch out some different ideas and try putting some different stuff on the homepage. Small snippets of news would be good, and maybe some images to change it up a bit.
Currently, it's difficult to say how they will turn out because there isn't much to comment on, but I'd say if you tighten up the areas that look rushed and change up the homepage by taking off most of the text it will look a lot better.
1# The navigation bar is over two lines, which is confusing in it self. Also the spacing between each of the buttons is not obvious enough and often the user might not be able to distinguish between each link.
2# This is intersting although slightly confusing. A bit all over the place but its interesting, which is why it's my favourite out of the three.
3# "Good old down the left", this is often the best way of doing it, but you seem to have spaced out the links a bit too far.
